Our
Story

Hazvy’s free-range chickens was founded in 2005 and has since established itself as one of the leaders in the free-range poultry industry in Zimbabwe.

No customer is too big or too small for us. We are bound to our commitment to quality and consistency regardless of the order size. We have been committed to quality and are trusted free-range poultry farmers for over 15 years.

We believe in freedom for our chickens, that means free to move outside, free from growth promoters, free from hunger and thirst, free from distress, free to express natural behaviour and free to eat of their natural diet. Our chickens can scratch, perch, cluck, forage, and peck freely all day.

Chicken Breeds
We Stock

Potch Koekoeks have black and white striped feathers that are distinct for roosters and hens, making it easy to tell them apart. They are a dual-purpose breed and good for both meat and egg production and lay at least 200 eggs a year. The pullets can start laying eggs at 18 weeks. Potch koekoeks maintain good egg production even with poor quality or insufficient feeding.

These birds have black feathers with a green iridescent sheen. The large sized roosters weigh approximately 4 – 4.5 kg and the large sized hen 2.8 – 3.6 kg. They are a dual-purpose breed and good for both meat and egg production. Black Australorps are highly prolific layers and can lay at least 250 eggs a year. The pullets can start laying as young as 16 – 20 weeks.

We also offer designer crossbreeds, that have beautiful plumage colors, friendly personalities and ultra-hardiness. These dual-purpose chickens combine the best of various pure breeds to give tasty meat and prolific egg laying capabilities. The layers can lay at least 190 eggs a year. The larger sized rooster weighs about 3.5 – 4.5 kg and the hens weigh approximately 2.5 – 3.5 kg.
